Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is a third party logistics provider based in Bowling Green, KY. Founded in 2002, we strive to deliver innovative solutions to make our customers and their supply chains better

Serving primarily automotive and food manufacturing companies, Bluegrass provides value added warehousing, cross docking, ecommerce fulfillment, light assembly, engineering, and quality support services over a four state region.  Our sister company, Bluegrass Dedicated operates a fleet of 50 tractors to provide transportation services to customers throughout the US.  In addition, Bluegrass Dedicated provides Air, Expedite, Intermodal, and Less than Truck Load freight management to customers throughout North America utilizing our extensive network of partner carriers.

For the past three years, Bluegrass Supply Chain and Bluegrass Dedicated have been recognized by INC Magazine on the annual INC 5000 listing of the fastest growing privately held companies in America. 

We at Bluegrass understand our success has been possible with the help of those in our communities.  We are committed to giving back by partnering with local organizations to help enrich the lives of those around us.  Bluegrass supports the Abraham Project, Hope House Ministries, Meals Inc, and numerous sports teams and civic organizations.  Bluegrass Dedicated was recently recognized as a Hometown Hero in Bowling Green for delivering approximately twenty truckloads of synthetic riding surface material at no charge to New Beginning Therapeutic Riding Center.  Bluegrass exists to build meaningful relationships, make our customers better, and minister to others through our workplace.  With all of the growth and success, the mission of Bluegrass Supply Chain Services remains simple, we strive to help our customers, team members, suppliers and communities be better by serving a greater purpose.  

Meet Our Management Team

John Higgins

President

John Higgins


John founded Bluegrass Supply Chain Services in 2002. Since that time, John and his team of dedicated leaders and associates have grown Bluegrass which began as a part-time consulting operation with two associates into a multi-million dollar Supply Chain Services company operating within three divisions. Bluegrass currently employs over 350 associates with multiple locations in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.

John has over twenty-two (22) years of Supply Chain Management experience which he gained through his various operations management, engineering and consulting roles with renowned global organizations, UPS and Accenture. John’s keen focus on technology, lean logistics and value-added supply chain management has catapulted Bluegrass into a leading provider of value added distribution, transportation, and quality support services.

John has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Kentucky University. John is very active in civic and church activities. He has served as a Board Member of the United Way of Northern Virginia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Bowling Green Christian Academy, and as a Member of the Business Executive Advisory Council at the Gordon Ford College of Business, at Western Kentucky University. John leads an Adult ABF and Small group at Living Hope Baptist church where he also serves as a deacon. In addition, John supports youth soccer and volleyball and is a compassionate giver to charitable organizations in the community.

John and his wife, Nan, have been married for twenty (20) years and have two daughters, Hannah and Jillian. John and Nan reside in Bowling Green, KY.

Matt Belden

Division Manager of Sales & Marketing

Matt Belden


Matt joined the Senior Leadership team at Bluegrass Supply Chain Services in August 2011. In addition to this strategic leadership role, Matt also has responsibility for the overall leadership and direction in the growth of Bluegrass. He and his team of Logistics Specialists are responsible for creating new opportunities of growth by soliciting a portfolio of value added service offerings.

Before making the move to Bluegrass, Matt served in a senior leadership capacity with a large national logistics and transportation company for twenty years. He provides marketing expertise and a strong, structured and common sense approach in leading the growth of the Bluegrass.

Matt received a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Kentucky University. He and his wife and two children reside in his hometown of Munfordville, KY. Matt is very active in his community and his church and enjoys spending his free time with his family.

David Bryant

Division Manager of Human Resources 

David Bryant


David joined the Bluegrass Supply Chain Services Leadership team in January of 2014. As Director of Organizational Development, David is focused on the professional growth and development of the current Bluegrass Leadership team as well as developing the future leaders of Bluegrass.

David brings extensive experience leading primarily health care provider and distribution companies. He is a highly collaborative, hands-on leader, driven to build high performing teams, exceeding key performance indicators and delivering on strategic imperatives. David is committed to building upon our culture and developing high performing teams at each of our sites.

In addition to his leadership development role, David is responsible for strategic initiatives to improve internal communications and simplifying Bluegrass processes.

David is a graduate of Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX and currently resides in Franklin, TN. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family both on the lake and supporting the Tennessee Titans.

Mo Jackson

Division Manager of Value Added Warehousing

Mo developed his relationship with Bluegrass Supply Chain Services as a consultant in the fall of 2013 with a project launch in Portland, Tennessee. With the successful startup and growth potential at Bluegrass, Mo was offered the opportunity to join the Bluegrass Leadership Team as General Manager of Human Resources. As HR Manager Mo is entrusted with oversight and development of Corporate and Field HR and Safety. His talented teams are responsible for Bluegrass’ people processes including recruiting, staffing and performance management as well as organizational and leadership development while fostering a Safety First work environment for all team members.

Mo’s experience in Human Resources, Operations, Logistics, Warehousing and Project Management is a result of his twenty-five year career with UPS and most recently a three year assignment in the Food Grade Industry as Director of Operations, Transportation and Facilities at Southern Foods. Mo’s prior roles have given him a broad knowledge helpful in providing valuable insight into the various arenas Bluegrass operates within.

Mo and his wife Tammy have been married thirty years and live in Warren County. They have two children, JP and Sydney, currently attending the University of Cincinnati and Western Kentucky University respectively. The Jacksons are active sports fans. They have been deeply involved with youth and teen sports in the Bowling Green and Warren County area for many years, specifically football, baseball and volleyball where they have organized, played and coached multiple programs.

Bill Pharris

Division Manager of Quality Services

Bill Pharris


As General Manager of Quality Support Division, Bill is responsible for directing and overseeing Quality Support solutions for Bluegrass Supply Chain Services. He and his team of qualified associates support our customers’ needs with product containment, inspection, assembly, rework, and engineering services. His experience supports Bluegrass 3PL portfolio by bringing manufacturing solutions to our customers.

Bill has 25 plus years of quality, engineering, manufacturing, and business management experience. His application knowledge in manufacturing and quality management systems include ISO, TPM, JIT, Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, Ergonomics, and continuous improvement.

Before coming to Bluegrass, his career gave him a diverse knowledge of manufacturing ranging from Tier 1 and 2, retail, and aftermarket supply chains. His product and manufacturing knowledge in plastics and die cast molding, extrusion molding, stampings, rubber products, electronics assembly, high speed automation, and assembly supports Bluegrass Supply Chain Services vision “To be the supply chain partner of choice”.

Bill resides in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is a graduate of Mid Continent University. He loves outdoor activities like golf, hunting and fishing. Bill is married to Kim and they have three children and one son-in-law. All count it blessed to serve God and others within their daily work, local church, and on the mission field.
