Quality Liaison - Shepherdsville, KY



Tuesday - Friday 6pm-6am

Friday/Saturday 6am-6pm & Sunday/Monday 6pm-6am

Responsibility and Authority:

The Quality Liaison is responsible for completing various tasks as specified by the customer's work directions, and general needs. Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to: maintaining safety and HR standards of conduct at all times; following written work instructions in a self-directed manner; acting as 'first response' for any quality related issues; meeting expectations for timeliness and accuracy; perform duties of customer representative by communicating effectively with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction when possible; assisting other team members in various tasks as requested; addressing customer quality concerns and reporting back to plant to assist in closure of concerns product; taking direction from Bluegrass management, as well a the customer; and, any other tasks requested by the customer or Bluegrass. Quality Liaisons report directly shift supervisors, quality engineers and/or site supervisors/managers.

Essential Functions of the Positions:

  • Abide by Bluegrass' Value Standards at all times
  • Act as the Quality Representative with the customer. Act as the key contact between company and customer and ensure customer focus and satisfaction is maintained to highest level possible
  • Attend necessary customer quality meetings
  • Communicate customer's concerns to Management and appropriate departments
  • Conduct random audits of finished goods and log any issues found. Logs are to be given to Quality and Production Management
  • Direct involvement with customer to identify root cause to effectively contain and address issues
  • Travel between company and customer to deliver finished goods for rework, replacements, overflow, and/or special orders
  • Sort through any issues found on customer floor to ensure everything is clean and ready for production from that point forward to keep the customer's lines running efficiently
  • Start at the line and work your way back to the build cell
  • Make sure all commodities are filled and neatly organized
  • Gather information from client supervisors about any issues that you are called in regards to, to identify source to enable couching
  • Take all cautionary measures to contain any issues at Bluegrass if possible. If not possible, ensure that you work in a way while at the company that will keep all lines running efficiently
  • Have a clear understanding of how the production works on both ends of the spectrum to be able to prioritize your work load in order of importance

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Basic mechanical and math skills
  • Team player who accepts challenges and take pride in their work
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build relationships with all levels of associates and customers
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment while meting the safety standards of the company and quality expectations of the customer
  • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail as well as maintain high degree of self-motivation
  • Superior problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers in order to resolve quality concerns
  • Working familiarly of build processes of builds, including but not limited to C520, C489, and U55X models

Physical Demands:

A Quality Liaison can work in any range of environments: from a climate-controlled space to a factory floor where temperatures can range of excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. You must be able to lift 10 to 25 pounds from the floor to over your shoulders on a repeated basis, up to a 12 hour shift. This position can require the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and be in a standing position for up to 12 hours on unpadded floors.
